“Nice Problem to Have”

Do you ever get in a mental state where you forget how thankful you could be? Life had been a bit stressful for me. I decided to pack my bags and drive to San Antonio for the weekend. I stopped at a fabulous designer discount mall on the way.

I walked into one of the designer shops, Prada, to buy a wallet. As I was chatting with the clerk, I mentioned I was deciding between their wallet and two other designer wallets. He looked at me and said, “Nice problem to have.”

I stopped in my tracks and started smiling from ear-to-ear. Those four words brought me back to a state of gratitude.

Life a bit stressful? I get to go shopping. I get to drive to a great city for a getaway. I’ve got great health. I love my work. And the list goes on.

Wow. It made me think of people who are having health issues. People who have lost loved ones. I thought of people who do not have a roof over their head or food to eat. I bet they would trade their stress for mine any day.

“Nice problem to have” is my reality check every time I see my new wallet. Gratitude is a great attitude!
