“Pretend that every single person you meet has a
sign around his or her neck that says, ‘Make me feel important.’ Not only will
you succeed in sales, you will succeed in life.” Mary

Regardless of your title
and industry, you are in the people business. I agree with Mary Kay, everybody wants to feel important. Don’t
you? I certainly do.
How do you currently make people feel important
in your presence? Is it by smiling and knowing their name? Is it by exhibiting
common courtesy which does not appear to be common today?
Do you hold the door open
for others? Or are you so busy you unintentionally let the door slam in their
face? Intentionally or unintentionally has the same impact on how people feel.
What one simple behavior
can you begin today to make someone feel important?
